Before joining the Refuge Group in 2023, Jay served as the Director of Operations at Pyron Group Insurance, located in Jackson, Mississippi. Over his twelve years there, he contributed to the organic growth of the agency and played a key role in acquiring eleven other insurance agencies across Mississippi.

Jay is currently a Producer for Higginbotham Insurance Agency, Inc. where he develops insurance programs for his association/affinity group clients.

Jay is well-versed in nearly every aspect of operating an insurance agency. As a licensed producer, he not only grew and managed his own book of business but also trained new producers to do the same. Beyond production, he implemented agency procedures, management systems, and various technology products crucial to the growth and viability of the agency.

Jay attended the University of Mississippi, where he studied Business Administration, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Risk Management and Insurance.

Outside of work, Jay is an active member of Northminster Baptist Church in Jackson. He and his wife, Krysten, reside with their two children in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
