Mr. McDonnell is the former Chairman, CEO, and largest stockholder of one of the largest rental car companies in America – leading a series of complex transactions involving major wall street investment banks, industry-leading competitor Hertz as their divestiture partner, and the Federal Trade Commission. 

In 2022, he sold the U-Save Car and Truck Rental franchise network to Green Motion International to boost brand development and increase car counts for existing domestic insurance programs. Post transaction, Tom is proud to remain active in the oversight of Green Motion and U-Save’s domestic operations. He has owned and operated the Jackson, Mississippi U-Save franchise location since 1994. 

Tom built Sonoran National Insurance Group into the country's largest car rental focused independent insurance agency by creating successful insurance programs for various industry needs. Tom also developed Auto Rental Resource Center (ARRC), the foremost trade association for independent car rental operators with over 1000 members nationwide. 

In early 2023, Tom sold Sonoran National Insurance Group to Higginbotham Insurance Agency to accelerate the development of international programs for the combined U-Save/Green Motion car rental networks. Tom is committed to finding the right international insurance brokers and carriers to help expand Sonoran’s tested insurance programs overseas. He remains actively involved in the management and development of Sonoran National Insurance Group through his role as a Managing Director at Higginbotham.

In 1996, Tom founded the LeFleur Transportation family of companies that provided non-emergency medical transportation services to government and corporate clients across the country, completing more than 1.4 million passenger trips annually. 

Tom holds a degree in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.  He is very active in his local community serving on various boards and charitable organizations.  Tom has been involved with Sigma Chi Fraternity for decades and was honored as a Significant Sig in 2015.  Tom and his wife Jana founded Partners In Christ (PIC), a 501c3 organization dedicated to the spread of the Gospel around the world.
